About e-SMART Study Project
Powered by APNOR & SMART
e-Smart Study project will give different learning opportunities to students with refugee backgrounds in Indonesia. We will provide online classes facilitated by skilled instructors in their respective expertise. The online class will focus on empowering students through a tutoring and mentoring approach. With the support of different partners, the project is also looking at remote internship opportunities for top-score students, in addition to internships at SMART and not limited to opportunities available only in Indonesia but also overseas.
We believe the e-Smart Study project will answer the needs of the community, especially the young adult refugee to further their education level. Efforts have been initiated to enable these young adult refugees to continue their education in higher education in Indonesia, especially in urban contexts like Jakarta. This project would also be part of the effort by offering alternative education forms that focused on skill-based knowledge. Specifically, big cities in Indonesia have been indicating a strong growth of the creative industry that often requires many talents in, for instance, graphic design and web designing.
Overview of the Project
e-Smart study project is developed to provide learning opportunities for refugees to learn skills from their own community and host community. This project aims to be a platform accessible for refugees to free online courses of technical knowledge. The project will focus on young adult refugees who are willing to learn various skills such as graphic and web designing and other skills that might allow them to work online as freelancers for companies, who need their skills or to prepare them when they get resettled in third country. The course would connect the refugee community and host community through an exchange of knowledge thus allowing positive interaction that would support refugees’ well-being.
